Turkey Vulture Tallow Bar Soap

This soap is inspired by my friend's love of Turkey Vultures, as well as her herbal and spiritual work. 

I infused the oils in this soap overnight with Cleavers and Purple Deadnettle, and used a tea of the same herbs in place of water. I also used all natural colorants by way of charcoal, cocoa powder, and rose clay, to match the colors if Vultures.

For this soap, I decided to go with a blend of peppermint and rosemary essential oils, as they're associated with funeral rites and remembrance respectively.

Finally, this friend of mine is known locally for her rosemary-infused Golden Oil and her elderberry syrups, so I made sure to add dried rosemary and dried elderberries to the layers. I blitzed both to a powder so as to provide gentle exfoliation without being too rough.

This is the only herbal soap included in the Birdwatcher collection.
